Hello! And welcome, to another Daily Round-Up. There are some big announcements today, so let’s begin.

Let’s begin with some huge otaku news. Pokemon the Movie: Everyone’s Story has now premiered in theatres in Japan, and as usual, included a teaser for the next movie. It looks like it’ll be a remake of the very first movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, titled “Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution”. Dogasu, who runs Dogasu’s Backpack (http://dogasu.bulbagarden.net/), broke down the teaser:

The teaser starts with a black screen. Text that says something along the lines of “The Legend is Back” (伝説が戻ってくる) appears in both English and Japanese. After that, some bubbles that’ll look very familiar to Movie 1 fans start floating up from the bottom of the screen.

As the bubbles continue to rise, we hear a voice that I’m 99.99999999% sure is Masachika Ichimura, the original voice of Mewtwo from Mewtwo Strikes Back (and that Jouto TV special), recite the opening monologue from the first movie: “What is this place? Who am I?” (ここはどこだ?私は誰だ?). We then see a shot similar to the one below of Mewtwo opening its eyes, though I’m sad to say that the Mewtwo shown in the teaser for next year’s film is rendered in CG.

After this, the movie’s logo comes up: Pocket Monsters The Movie “Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution” (劇場版ポケットモンスター「ミュウツーの逆襲Evolution). The logo, at least now anyway, consists of the word “Evolution” written out in English slapped onto the bottom right-hand corner of the old Movie 1 logo from 1998.

I really hope Mewtwo isn’t rendered in CG in the final film, but we’ll have to see. Are you excited for this new movie?

This year’s August issue of Kodansha’s Bessatsu Friend magazine has revealed that Atsuko Nanba’s new manga series is “Come on a My House”. The series revolves around an age-gap relationship between a 16-17 year-old girl and a 24 year old man, as they have a fateful encounter at the girl’s usual “secret place”.

A new PV has been released for Muhyo & Roji’s Bureau of Supernatural Investigation. The video previews the ending song “Hotohashiru”, performed by ORESAMA. The Muhyo & Roji anime will begin airing on September 3rd, after an advanced screening event in Tokyo on July 29th.

FUNimation has announced on their website that they will be screening the “Cowboy Bebop: Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” anime movie in U.S. theatres. The film will screen on August 15th in Japanese with English subtitles, and on August 16th in English.

The official website for Revue Starlight has revealed that the Blu-ray release of the series will include an unaired 8 minute short in each volume. The three volumes of the series will release on October 24th, December 26th, and February 27th.

New key visuals have been released for Studio Ponoc’s upcoming anthology movie Modest Heroes. Each visual relates to a different story within the 3-part anthology.

Shounen Jump magazine has announced that Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs will be getting a 3rd OVA, which will ship with the manga’s 13th volume. The 13th volume will ship on December 4th.

KOEI Tecmo America has announced that the previously announced Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists: Ateliers of the New World will be receiving a Western release. The game will release this Winter, with no specific release date currently announced.

And finally, the official website for Steins;Gate 0 has revealed a new key visual for the show’s second half, which showcases many characters.

And now, for today’s Nintendo news.

Niantic has revealed a new piece of Pokemon GO art, via the official Pokemon GO Twitter. This is to celebrate the game’s 2nd anniversary, which was just over a week ago, and to thank players for all the support over the last two years. It’s pretty incredible how fast time has passed.

The Shounen Jump 50th Anniversary Edition version of the Famicom Classic Mini has sold over 110k units in its first week. This version of the Famicom Classic Mini features a completely different set of games, mainly those featuring characters from manga that were seralised in Shounen Jump.

Nintendo has released an Overview Trailer for Octopath Traveller, to celebrate its release, today. We’d love to review the game, but unfortunately, none of us have the money to buy it. Definitely a game I’d love to purchase in the future, though.

Bigben and Maximum Games have announced that Hunting Simulator is now available on Switch. The game features expansive hunting areas, with a large variety of animals to hunt. Will you be picking it up?

Radio Hammer Station is now available on Switch. From Arc System Works, the game is a unique hybrid of rhythm and action, and a sequel to the original Radio Hammer.

Colopl that their new Action RPG project based on the Shironeko smartphone game will be coming to Switch. The teaser trailer definitely looks interesting, but we’ll have to wait until 2020 to play the game. Hopefully, we’ll hear more news before then.

Amazon Japan has listed Undertale for Switch as a Fall 2018 release. Previously, the listing read Sept. 5th 2018, but this seems to have been changed. Undertale was previously announced for Switch in a Nintendo Direct, with no release date given at that time, simply saying the game would be coming “eventually”.

Eclipse Games has announced that their wacky platformer Spheroids will be releasing on Switch. The game will first release on July 20th in the US, and one week later on July 27th in Europe and Australia.

And to finish, take a look at this cute Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker art released on the Nintendo of America Twitter to celebrate the game’s 3DS and Nintendo Switch release. Can you spot the easter egg? Look closely, it’s a little pixelated.

And that’s everything that happened today, in both Nintendo and otaku-related news.

It’s been hard to focus on these lately, due to headaches, fatigue, and the heat, but it’s still just as rewarding to write. A lot of time and effort goes in to these, so I hope they’re worth it! As always, if I missed anything, or made any mistakes, let us know in the comments below.
